My New postman

Options
Since i got back to the country i have discoveered i have a new postie. Seems a nice chap but he seems to have an aversion of closing me bloody gate when he delivers. I have spoken to him about it but he keeps on doing it...

if the people who post flyers and fake collection bags through the door can do it then why cant he..

he wont be getting a big christmas box this year if it carries on :p

Can't you put a self closing spring on the gate? This will mean he has to open it on his way out as well as the way in.

Borrow a mates dog to chase him back down the path and he'll soon shut the gate behind him.........

Wait for him coming up your path, watch him walking back down and shout "shut the gate please" at him when he gets to the gate

My dog used to love grabbing the mail as it was coming through the letterbox. The postman ended up throwing the letters through the letterbox like a cannonball or something. Then we moved house and the letterbox isn't as accessible for him anymore. Poor Postman was scared to death though.

My postman does the same. We have a large farm gate across the drive and keep it shut so the dog doesn't go wandering down to the village. Postie opens the gate and drives up to the house, then drives back out leaving the gate open.
We did put one of those "please close the gate" signs up but it mysteriously disappeared!

Funny thing is, when he's off and we have one of the relief posties, they always close the gate afterwards.

Ours is the same. we have told him over & over but he opens the gate to come in & walks out the side gate to get out

At work the postie there is even worse.
He opens the door & drops the mail on the floor as he can't be bothered to walk to the desk to give it to reception

Call the delivery office and speak to the DOM, a word in the ear of the postie from his manager should hopefully sort him out
