LG Plasma TV problem fix

Hi, I have an LG 42PG3000 which stopped working unexpectedly last night and I fixed it by a fluke so thought I'd write how up here so if anyone has the same issue they can find this on a search.
When I turned the TV on, it said BBC1 as it normally would but there was no picture or sound. The BBC1 sign then disappeared and there was still no picture or sound. The TV was unresponsive to the remote control or any of the buttons on the underside.
I plugged in another TV and left the main one disconnected from the mains.
When I turned it on this morning I had left the aerial out so, as expected normally the "No Signal" display came up.
This is a good sign I thought so plugged the aerial and then we were back to square 1.
So I unplugged the TV, unplugged the aerial and then plugged the TV back in. The no signal sign re-appeared but the difference was that I could use the remote control. The input button bought up an empty input list.
I pushed menu, went to options and chose to restore factory settings. The TV went off then on, asked me to put in the aerial and then after a quick tune it was back to working.
Hope this helps someone else.
