Business Bond

I want to invest some money, £50,000, held in my business.

Best I have seen so far is Nat West 2 year Business Bond at 2.7%.

Can anyone better that?

Cheers:beer:

Try Bath building SOciety Business Tracker (12 mths paying up to 2.4%)

    RBS/Halifax also have a 12 month account paying 1.7%.

Our company is also looking to put surplus funds on despoist but the rates are rather poor at the moment...

Is it a limited company or sole trader/partnership?

If it's the latter, there's no problem putting it into an ordinary bank or building society account where you can earn a fair bit more. Just make sure you keep accurate records for the transfers of the money in and out of the business.

I assume that they quoted this figure in branch or on the phone as they are not shown on the website.

Moneyfacts lists some similar bonds not as good as 2.7% though.

    We are Limited Company.

Invesco have a reasonable deal and Nat West launching a new one on Monday 12 mth Bond 2.5%, 18mths 2.9%. Beware though that this is "unbreakable".

    Anyone know any better?

I fogot about the Santander 1 year bond at 2.5% as we already have that account. We also have money in the Investec high 5 Business a/c which I think is paying around 2.19% at the moment (3 months notice for withdrawals).

We have looked at (and discounted) Principality and Yorkshire Bank.

Bath Building Society have a 6 month Business tracker bond at 1.55% above BOE Base Rate - currently 2.05% for balances over £25000.00.

They also have a 12 month at 1.9% above BOE base rate - currently 2.3% for > £25000.00.

These are both capped at 3.5% and are the best rates we've been able to find for our business.
