With the nHS record for computer issues I would suggest that saying something should not happen is not the same as saying it won't happen. I have had direct experience of apparently 'private for your eye only' info being made available to everyone with a computer on the network.
Due to issues already with this scheme the roll out has already been delayed.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Just to clarify you don't opt into the NHS Summary Care Record. You have to opt-out of it.
The letters informing people have now been suspended as there has been a lot of critiscm of whether they gained consent, and the BMA has now said they pose a 'serious' risk to patient health due to incorrect information being held.
There is a document by connecting for health the department responsible for the roll-out entitled I'mplied Consent Model and Permission to View'
It explicitly states occasions when people's
medical details can be shared without their permission with external authorities outside of the NHS.
In addition to court orders, one such reason highlighted is if it's 'in the public interest'. This is the broadest of terms, and you could easily imagine it meaning people within DWP having access to your details at some point in the future. There would be nothing to stop them doing this once you had a SCR, even if it's not in the currently stated intentions of how it would be used.0 -
And I would also get your Demographics record flag set to 'sensitive' as well, to prevent the 831,000 smartcard holders from viewing your contact details without your knowledge or consent.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
