    Hi,

If you can, try not to work this money into your budget. My ex and I were forced to go through CSA after his ex-wife put in a claim for their children together (which of course she is perfectly entitled to do) and even though the money has been taken out of his wages by DOE since January I have received four payments, all less than amount I was due, July I received half and will be getting nothing till the end of September now. Needless to say it has really landed me in it with regards to uniforms, additional costs of school holidays and DD1's birthday next month. I have learnt my lesson, if I get it it's a bonus but I'm better off expecting them to mess it up somewhere down the line and not seeing the money my ex is paying for dust!

Or in my case he tells the CSA he's lost his job when in fact he has a new job on a higher salary, so payments stop until they get sick of me and find out where he's working...

Interesting comment from a CSA employee today who told me that whilst the employers have until the 19th to send the monies in, the CSA give them a further 5 working days after that for the money to come in before chasing with them.

When queried the response was 'that is the procedure'.
  • I've been told that too.
