Double glazing company stalling on fixing our windows

Options
Hi All, would be grateful for some advice...

We had new windows / doors fitted in December for the whole house from a local double glazing company (did a search online and found no complaints), the windows came with a 10 year guarentee.

15 weeks ago we noticed one of the welds in the door is cracked. We contacted the glazing company and they weren't really interested. 4 weeks later, after insisting someone came and looked at it they sent a chap out from the company that manufacture the frames. He popped his head in the door, said we needed a new frame built, he'd let the glazers know and off he went. We also contacted them to let them know what he had said.

11 weeks later and we are STILL chasing them, regular emails and phone calls but keep getting fobbed off.

I want this just to be sorted out amicabily and be done with it but it doesn't look like that is going to happen anytime soon.

What do you think is a reasonable time to wait to get this sorted? Is there anything we can do? Any way to put the pressure on them?

Thanks in advance for your help :o

Get a quote to have have the problem resolved by an alternative company. Send a copy of this quote to the original company offering then 14day to resolve the problem themselves, or alternatively you will resolve the matter yourself by taking up the offer quoted.

Let them know that you will look to recover all costs associated through the small claims court.

Alternatively, did you take finance? If so the finance company are jointly liable for the defect.

I don't want to name and shame just yet, give them a chance to sort it out.

They're not registered with the GGF :( but are with FENSA
