    Hi Skullcreature,

Unfortunately it is a matter of trial and error if the service is fine in the test socket but not via the extension.

The first port of call as you have already tried is to discount the varying pieces of equipment i.e. microfilters etc.

TalkTalk would not advise that you do use an extension socket and that your BB equipment is connected directly to the master socket where possible. Potentially looking to relocate the router to the master socket and using an ethernet connection to the pc, as opposed to connecting the router via an extension would be more appropriate.

If the issue is with the router in the master socket then disconnecting the extension may also resolve the issue. It may be due to a problem with the actual termination of the extension causing interference in the master.

    Regards

    Mark

...Just be sure to turn off the power to your router before yanking out/disconnecting the telephone cable anywhere as if you pull the plug when its 'live' it can screw your profile at the exchange and take days to self-recalibrate leaving you with reduced speeds in the meantime.

I know you said you have a microfilter on the phone line to the sky box but do you also have one on the multiroom extension. Our multiroom upstairs is on an extension into the bedroom BT socket and needs a separate microfilter
Unplugged sky from the telephone line and it resolved the problem. As we dont use sky interactive, have just left it this way since.

Can't do that if you have multiroom both boxes have to be connected to the phone line to make sure both boxes are at the same premises
