Where can I find original house plans?

We are in the process of selling our 2 bedroom 1908 built cottage and buying a 3 bedroom 1920's house.
Our buyer turned up to have another look around and my wife noticed that he had plans of our house?
Where did he get these from, as I would like to get these for the house we are buying?
I have been to our local authorities website and looked at land registry websites, but cannot find anywhere that I can get/buy actual house plans, any ideas!

I would have thought that IF the original plans exist, they will be in archive form at your local Planning Department; in practice however, when I worked in planning we had hardly any plans of that age. Our records only went back to 1948 as the 'Town and Country Planning Act' as we know it did not exist until then.
You will probably find that they do not exist anymore.
Why don't you ask your buyer where he got the plans from?(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Were they actually original building plans or were they just a floor plan done by your estate agent. The better agents now often include a floor plan on their details (some even put them up on Rightmove) - could it just be those that they'd got a copy of?
