Beware Foriegn Bids!

Hi all,
Just to let you know, not sure if you are aware, yesterday, some little nlighter bid £2000 on one of my items, I contacted them to say, "please be aware I will not post abroad" It was stated in item description.

they contacted me and said they would pay as item is for little girl in nigeria, but I wld need to send shipping confirmation before payment is released!!!

Now I had read somewhere about something very simular happening with a laptop, so I phoned paypal, who confirmed the "confirmation of payment" email was a spoof, note: spoof@ebay.com if you need to forward a spoofy looking mail.

I have now found that on sellers tools in my preferences you can hide your listing from buyers wwho are not in the same country as you! Please do this, you won't get the bother I have had, have to pay to relist now!!!

You can also set your buyer preferences not to accept bids from countries that you don't post to.

Oh yep, I forgot that one, I felt like such a muppett, I couldn't believe it. I had read on Ebay that someone who had this happen to them, sent an A4 file cunningly shaped like a laptop, decorated it like one, with a few profamities on the pretend screen, I am sooo tempted.

Do you know if that applies to "Collection only" items as well? I've got a car listed at the moment and don't want the auction spoiled by bogus bids.
I've already been asked if I can deliver it to Wales
    Can I help?
