Gambling charge free credit cards?

I agree with GTM but i'd go a bit further-NEVER, EVER use credit cards to gamble with. Its a fast growing problem on the internet and a significant number of people are in dire trouble with it.

does anyone know if you can use MBNA cards - i rang CS and they said that it will b treated as a cash advance, although the CS advisor did not sound sure or convincing........
Furthermore does anyone know if you can transfer the money [originally from the credit cards] from gambling sites on2 a debit card.....?????0 -
MBNA issued cards DO charge a cash advance fee for deposits at bookie

You can with some bookies transfer winnings funded by a credit card back to a debit card, more frequently you can BACS it to a current account. With other bookies winnings can only be sent back to the card that originally funded the account.

Does anyone know if Nationwide charge a cash advance fee for gambling, I want to use mine to put some money into a pokerstars account, after the advice I gave above lol.
The reason for that though is a friend of mine who doesn't have a card that they will accept (he's just turned 18 and doesn't have anything but a crappy cashcard, not even solo or electron) wants me to put some money on for him and he's going to pay me the cash, it is going in as dollars so I want to use a Nationwide card, it can be either my debit or credit card, using the debit card I'll have to pay the money in first as there's not enough in my account, using the credit card I can pay it off with the rest of my card bill, much easier if they don't charge a fee.
Also does anyone know if Egg treat it as a cash transaction or a purchase, if they treat it as a purchase and he wants me to do any transaction in £ for him I could use that for cashback, I somehow doubt they're that daft though.

Just curious, is there anything to stop someone with a 0% on purchases card that treats gambling as a purchase putting the whole balance into something like a poker account and then cashing it out somewhere else without making a bet?

The bookie might get a bit sniffy if you dont bet the funds at least once otherwise they may levy a charge.
...but yes it is possible.God save the King!
