Hi there,

I have an acer aspire 5601 laptop which needs a new battery which I bought on ebay. Unfortuantely the battery doens't fit the laptop, It's a lot smaller battery

I'm a bit confused about the laptop model no. It says on back its aspire 5600 series, but then inside it says its 5601. Do all aspire 5600 series including mine use the same battery which is part no LIP-6198QUPC SY6.

This is the item on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170526280684

As you can see at top of page it says it's for 5600 series, so I may have some grounds to return item if 5600 series use the same battery.

hope someone can give me some advice?

Thanks very much

Did you buy from that ebay seller?

    If so, note their address...
    Merry Beauty House
    志佳 黄海珠区前进路嘉汇华庭C1304
    510220 广州市, 广东省
    中國

Oh, and please don't think that phone number in the listing, (020)34313827, is a UK one. Same number is on Hong Kong ebay and Holland ebay.

Not only is your part no. not included in their listing, but neither your model number.

Not even the picture matches your battery.
    Compatible models

    Acer Aspire

    3030 3050 3200 3600 3680 Series

    5030 5050 5500 5550 5570 5580 Series

Take a screenshot, as the heading certainly doesn't match the description.

Thanks for replies. Yes I have just taken a screenshot. Well the battery only took 2 days to reach me by royal mail, so he definatley has a place of dispatch in UK. I have contacted him through ebay today, no reply yet, but tempted to leave negative feedback, but probably need to be fair to him and give him 24 hours to reply.

Would you say this is a fair thing to do?

Yes, an honest trader will always appreciate the opportunity. Give 48 hrs. Paypal and eBay will be on your side, as the description is misleading.
