Hair like straw

google morrocan oil products - I've heard great things about it.0

I bleach my roots every 6-8 weeks and my personal routine to try to keep my hair healthy: Once a day I use Biosilk Silk Therapy (don't use this on your roots as it can make your scalp a bit greasy). If you use a hairdryer etc. this is really great to have on your hair before you do anything. It smells fab too! Once a week I give my hair a special treat my sister taught me long ago. I wet my hair..rub in Aussie's 3 Min. Miracle and wrap a really warm..almost hot towel around my head and let it sit on there for ATLEAST 15 mins. It really does keep the hair silky soft

Agree with hotchick, the moroccan oil is the best stuff I have ever used. Quite pricy, but you don't need to use a lot. If you can only afford one thing go for the oil. I am a very platinum blonde and colour my hair frequently, it is also naturally curly, but the morrocan oil has sorted it out (I do get it trimmed quite regularly though)8 months to go till end of the IVA :j:rotfl::T0

Check out the Kiehl's Silk Groom range or the Fekkai hair care range.0

Mine also looked like straw - until I discovered GHD straighteners. What a difference! Feels smooth, silky and looks so good. I use Nice n Easy colour with their tube of conditioner, which I make last for quite a few washes....my hair has never looked or been in better condition.
I agree, GHDs transform it into a silky straight hair:D0 -
Get a really good conditioner and leave it in for a hour every week , that is what my hairdresser recommends if you are using straightners, hairdryers and dying your hair. Also use heat products.0

I used to have my hair highlighted every 5 weeks too and had the same problem!
I can highly recommend the Aussie range, it was the ONLY shampoo and conditioner that left my hair soft. I've also used the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer but to be honest I got the same results from the Aussie haircare range for a fraction of the cost.:T
Am now mahogany brown and still use the same Aussie products with the same fab results (can you tell I'm a fan?!)
I would have thought, though, that your hairdresser ought to be able to recommend something?0 -
I regularly bleach my hair (and have done for years!). I use the following, some more expensive than others, but I'm very happy with my hair

Treatment 2 x per week - Philip Kingsley Elasticizer
Shampoo - haven't found the perfect one yet, but generally TIGI shampoos have the been the best for me.
Conditioner - TIGI Dumb Blonde Reconstructor (Boots Botanics 3 minute deep conditioning hair mask is almost as good, and a fair bit cheaper... leave on for 30 mins as a treatment)
Drying/styling - Toni & Guy Protein Protection mist (adds condition, shine, and protects against heat damage), followed by Organix coconut milk serum. Dry/straighten hair after using these (or skip the heat if you can!).
Botanics conditioner and styling stuff all available in boots, but the rest are salon brands - I'm afraid I really do think salon brands are a lot better.
Bear in mind though, everyone is different, and what works for one person won't necessarily suit another - trial and error is really the only option.
Hope that helps a little!0 -
Find a Goldwell salon and try Elumen - it's a colour gloss that comes in everything from bright colours to clear. I have it over a permanent colour and it makes the hair very shiny and soft. I have seen it for sale on Ebay but I've only ever had it done by a hairdresser.0
