we bought ours 2 weeks ago from Argos, sports pack, wii fit, baseboard etc for £249, which is ideal as my wife needed an exercise regime she could handle after undergoing major surgery. There is something for everyone on it.
Nunchuck is just a name for the second controller that you use to play some games etc.

Check out the new thing coming from Microsoft before you invest in a wii. An Xbox costs a bit more than a wii, but they are releasing (in nov) a 3d camera, tracks your body movements, there are fitness games, dancing games etc etc but just about everything is standing up jumping around, and him indoors may find full game games more endearing than the wii fit things (most wii games can be played sat down with small wrist movements).

nunchucks are 2 sticks connected by a chain which is used in martial arts to kick butt or to whack themselves in the genitals. But similar for a Wii, without the martial arts part. Below is the picture.

That's the doobry. Plan on getting on myself, was going to go for a wii, but this looks far more fun, and far more accessible for when I get home from the office and want to play something, but not in any sense of pushing keys/buttons.

You always have this as an option Sony Move

Basically the same as what MS is bringing out and along the same lines as the current Wii.

I'm putting my order in for one (Kinect) in a few days and I can't wait for it to come out. We had a Wii and the novelty value wore off very quickly (even though I was the one who pestered my OH into buying us one!)

Prefer the idea of a 3d camera, as opposed to a highly accurate wii (ps move), with some camera capabilities. I'm not interested in 3d games (not going to own a 3d tv in many many years), and the larger price tag on the ps3 is off putting. Plus, by the time I buy all the extra bits and bobs I need for the ps3, it costs more than the kinect camera. Plus, that leaves me pushing buttons again.
  • Thanks for all your speedy replies and help with this everyone. I REALLY like the look of the Kinect and will most likely wait for that to come out - looks like great fun.
  • I have been on the "Game" website and seen an "Xbox 360 4GB Console With Kinect & Kinect Adventures" at £249.99 - would this be everything I would need?

This site won't allow me to post a link (as I am a new user).
