Further to this poll, if anyone could take the time to fill out my slightly more detailed (only 9 quick questions) poll I would be REALLY grateful! You don't have to register or anything!! Thank you in advance.

Just wondering what a typical number of guests is for a wedding these days. I'm hoping to set up a business selling invitations and wondered how big/small orders might be.

I would be really grateful to know approximate numbers for the daytime reception and if you could post a comment about how many more you are having to the night time I would be much obliged!

Also did you make your own invites or pay someone to make them?

Hope this is OK to post here, I'm genuinely interested.

60ish adults and 10 children to the day, not sure about the night yet. Venue can take upto 450(!) but I think we'll be around 100-170

55 maximum during the day, with an additional 30 or so most likely at night.

Are you posting this poll on other wedding forums as well? I'd be interested to see if/how the average number of guests differ between a 'normal' wedding forum and one located on a money saving website. I know for example our budget directly affects the number of daytime reception guests we have - I'd gladly have all of our friends and family for the entire day if it wasn't for the cost of feeding them!

about 60 to the day, but 12 are children and most adults are couples, so in terms of invitations, i think we only needed about 25
