Haha, you dont have to put the www bit into a url for the most part, 90% of websites dont require it so the copy and paste of what you provided should suffice.
I didnt realize halifax werent fast payment enabled. I guess you learn something new every day..
Thats a function of which web browser you are using not the website.0 -
Halifax are FP enabled*, I use it to move funds into & out of my Reward accounts. I can't think why an internal transfer wouldn't be instant but I've set my Clarity card up for DD anyway.
* However, it is fragile. It doesn't always want to send by FP, so I try again later, maybe two or three times, and eventually it goes by FP.0 -
Hmm i just rung up Lloyds to see if they can send a payment to my Halifax CC as soon as possible and they said they could have the payment hit Halifax's account by the evening...i have a full DD set up with them so i doubt i'd ever nule that for the sake of testing out a FP service.0

Really? With all the bundled goodies that come with the VDS i have with GoDaddy, one of them is that the sites i host off that account don't need the www typed into the URL. Plus with I.e. (same version) some sites do work without it but with others you need to type in the www.0 -
I have just received my Halifax Clarity card with interest at 12.92% to use instead of my Nationwide Debit card abroad for cash.
I always pay off my credit cards in Full.
For example if I withdraw draw £500 cash abroad on the 20th of the November. My statement date is 26th of November and payment date 13th of December.
Now the bit I don't understand. :embarasse
I know I will be charged interest daily on the £500 I withdrew on the 26th November.
Can I:
a) Transfer money to my credit card account the day after the £500 is withdrawn and pay only a days interest.
or
b) Do I have to wait till my statement date before I'm allowed to pay off the money right away and only pay 6 days interest.
or
c) Do I have to wait until the 13th Decemberr to pay off the money and pay 24 days interest.
Obviously a) is my best option but it is not clear if options a) and / or b) are allowed or am I stuck with option c).
Any clarification would be welcomed as the Halifax website is not very clear about this.
I also have an Abbey Zero credit card where the APR is 27.9%. Do the above options also apply to the Zero credit card where the interest rate is more than double (and I should not consider using when I have the Halifax Clarity cc) ?

The answer is A but I was told it would take 3 days by bacs. If it goes through straight away, all the better

Sorry, but HFX credit cards cannot recieve faster payments at all, it all goes by BACS.100% G33K

Still a pretty good deal though - £500 at 12.9% would cost you less than 18p a day in interest (max £5.30 if you draw out on day 1 and pay in full at month-end), post-November "proud to join the gits" NW would be £11.00 (if you could draw £500...), best pre-paid card clocks in around £7.50 (if you could draw £500...).
If you have t'internet, you could transfer on the day or day before into the Clarity account to minimise interest, but not (IMHO) worth getting into a panic about it.0 -
I went into my local Halifax branch to change my accounts over from Nationwide and to request a Clarity Credit Card. I have above average income. House owner with no mortgage and no debts.
The interest rate on the Clarity Card I was offered was 21%. I told them this was the subprime rate and therefore an insult. I was told to preload the Card when I anticipated a cash withdrawal, but I said that wasn't the point.
The staff made further enquiries and were told the reason for the high interest rate was because I had no debt. The banking world has gone mad.
Cutting off my nose to spite my face, I told them this was unacceptable and left.
Guess I'll have to wait until another good deal comes along.0 -
Over 50% of applicants are declined cards. They don't lend to sub-prime applicants. The interest rate on the Clarity Card I was offered was 21%. I told them this was the subprime rate and therefore an insult.
Also bad advice, as the T&Cs don't allow it.I was told to preload the Card when I anticipated a cash withdrawal, but I said that wasn't the point.
They don't know for sure. They're guessing. If you have no financial relationship with HBOS that is a more likely reason. I'm guessing too.The staff made further enquiries and were told the reason for the high interest rate was because I had no debt. The banking world has gone mad.
Your call. If you are only planning on paying minimal interest and collecting £10 a month across credit card and current account you are possibly cutting off your nose to spite your face.Cutting off my nose to spite my face, I told them this was unacceptable and left.0
