HeatLine Vizo 24.... Any good????

Hi. I am after a cheap combi boiler to replace my broken conventional one. Did a lot of searches in shops and online and found the HeatLine Vizo 24 in B&Q for £399 which I thought was a very good price for the specs but I couldn't find any reviews on this manufacturer. Has anyone used or installed this boiler and what do people think about it? Any help would be appreciated.
Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

I take it that very few people have experience with this boiler and none of them watches these forums. I think it is new or something as I can't find much on the net either.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

Heatline are a boiler manufacturer based in Bedford, with the boilers being manufactured in Turkey. The boilers are generally of good quality, although they are aimed at the budget market (some of the bells and whistles left off but the important bits still fitted).
The Vizo 24 will be a model that is based on the C24 range, but produced specifically for B & Q (Biasi - another reputable manufacturer - do exactly the same with their boilers and call them the Garda range). They are discounted due to quantity buying and generally only come with a 1yr warranty as opposed to 2yrs.
The most important thing to ensure is that it is a high efficiency model (minimum SEDBUK banand that it is installed in accordance with the Gas Safety Regulations - use only a CORGI registered installer, the Building Regulations Part L & Part P (Energy Efficiency and Electrical Requirements), and the many other British Standard requirements involved with replacing a central heating boiler.
It should be noted that even if you are changing a boiler "like for like", you are required to bring the entire heating system up to the current regulatory standards.

Excellent value for money. I paid £300 (it was on promotion) for it from BNQ. Rock solid, no parts look cheaply made. It is easy to install, extremly simple to run. Noise same as with other boiler, nothing unusual. Top one. :beer:0

Based on my own experiance and the many many heating engineers who have come to look at the boiler....
No, the Vivi24 is not a good boiler any money you save over buying a better known make will be quickly eaten into.
After moving into a rented house where this boiler had just been fitted we have had nothing but problems, mainly the fact that it cannot heat water to an acceptable level unless it is trickling from the tap.
This is only based on my own personnal experiance of forever having problems but in the house I actually own I had a Worcester boiler installed and have never had any issues, it was roughly twice the price but a saving in the not so long term.0 -

Changes from 1st October
The October changes will mean that installers will not be able to specify B rated condensing boilers from 1st October onwards. However, installers can continue to fit Band B boilers until April 2011 providing the order was taken before October 1st 2010.
The exception to this rule is oil-fired combination boilers which can continue to be installed.0 -

Actually since the question was asked in 2006 he's probably thinking about the next replacement now.
Bon chance
