Another newbie query, I don't normally mind newbies bidding/buying but one has just bid on a £40 item. They have been registered for 2 days and have 0 feedback. Is there anyway that I can check if they have a confirmed address with paypal or do I need to wait until they pay. Also if they do win and pay by paypal can I refuse to send if they are not confirmed.

You can't find out there paypal details until they try to win that way unfortunately.
Also, if you refuse their payment after auction ends then they can do a non performing seller complaint on you and neg you as well.

I always find the better the item (rare, collectable) the more newbies you get bidding. I had a £50 item recently for which 3 people registered! and the other 2 bidding had 1 feedback. But you will find that not all newbies will be newbies, just new accounts, so don't worry until there is something to worry about.
When address is not confirmed, just make sure you use postal service that will allow you to get compensated in case of loss.:wall:0 -

That's a bit too fuzzy for me I'm afraid... you only get compensated if the buyer cooperates with the claims process, remember. My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -

What, the PO contacts the buyer?:wall:0 -
Fraid so
And if they don't get a response within (I think) 7 days, they scrap the claim. My TV is broken!

I've never had one contacted yet..so I don't know if they just do it on a random basis or what.
I may find out soon though, a gift posted to my father last Tuesday 1st class mail and in a gift box marked CD ( I know I know, I was tempting fate!) has so far failed to arrive.
