Can I plant anything in hanging baskets now?

Sorry if its a very novicey question,.. I've got two spare hanging baskets and wanted to plant them up but saw nothing of worth in my local garden centre (most of the bedding plants were past their prime).

Can I start off any seeds for winter plants now? I'n thinking of pansies and viola's, but what else will grow throughout winter and give colour?

Im in Bournemouth so a mild climate and no frosts (usually)

You could keep an eye out for small daffodil bulbs, not the huge King Alfred ones, but the little dainty ones[ Wilkos had some this week, but never checked the varieties

They will bloom early, especially where you live, and give a nice sign of Spring

Seeds, as you only have two baskets TBH I would just buy plants as you can at least judge the size & colours

Some winter pansies will be nice and as the titlh says will flower over the winter

Brilliant, thanks guys. Will buy some dafodils this week and then add winter pansies to them when they are next for sale.
