On the day - watch/engagement ring

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone was wearing a watch on their wedding day? I don't think it will fit into the whole bridal 'look', but I will feel lost without mine. (Am a bit of a control freak and will want to check we are on schedule!) Also have a rather nice tan line where it usually is...
Are you wearing your engagement rings on the other hand? Or leaving somewhere safe for the day? Not sure what to do with that either.

No i am not wearing my watch- although i will feel a bit weird without it too- its just wont go with my whole look
and regarding the engagement rings- thats a really interesting one and i look forward to the responses- as i assumed i just left mine on and the wedding ring goes on top of it. is this wrong then?Is a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!

You have to take your engagement ring off, always wear the wedding ring closer to the heart - the engagement ring then goes on afterwards xxxxI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I say if you always wear your watch and you're a bit of a control freak, (like me!!), then wear it! Totally up to you on that one

I'm undecided as to what to do with me engagement ring.....was thinking of giving it to my chief bridesmaid to look after until we're married, then I'd put it back on, on top of my wedding ring. My two best friends got married last year and one of them wore it on her left hand, the other gave it to me to look after until they were married!
I think it's just whatever you feel comfortable doing

Tradionally you're supposed to put the e-ring on the 3rd finger of the right hand during the ceremony, then put it back on over the wedding ring. Can't remember where I read this lol
I don't actually have an engagement ring yet so I'll worry about that if/when I get one!
Won't be wearing a watch so not worried about that0 -
Im going to wear mine on the other hand i think!0

i had no idea that you had to do that with the enagement ring- or that the wedding ring goes on first!
ohh will have to think what to do nowIs a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!

There is also the old saying that the engagement protects the marriage so that's another reason for wearing your wedding ring under your engagement ring.0

Do you know, I hadn't even thought about my watch! I always wear a watch and currently have a tan line so would look odd on the wedding day with a pale patch on my wrist. But my watch is a brown Fossil watch, so I may need something prettier than that!Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0

What about something like this? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Handmade-Swarovski-Crystal-Pearl-Bridal-Watch-/110530007097?pt=UK_Wedding_Clothing
you could wear it instead of a bracelet?0 -
I borrowed a more dainty watch from my Mum although to be honest I cant really remember checking the time...the day goes so fast!
I gave my engagement ring to my bridesmaid to wear during the service and then got it back whilst we were signing the register.
I didnt like the thought of removing my wedding ring to take my engagement ring off and it all fits better on the finger with wedding ring firstfrugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
