I have stayed in Comfort Inn, Americas Best Value Inn, Motel 6, Holiday Inn Express, Best Western, independent hotels and even Hostelling International accomodation in the US and found them all ok and most offered a "continental" breakfast. Unfortunately, not in the area you're visiting so I can't make any specific recommendations. Problem is that the standard varies from hotel to hotel even within chains ( for example there are 2 Motel 6s in Williams,AZ and imho one is a bit grim and the other ok). Price is as much about the date and the location as the quality though - you usually get more for your money half an hour out from the prime locations than in them. Holiday Inn Express tends to be bit more but I generally find them pretty good - they can be less than "cheapo" alternatives.
I'd recommend checking out tripadvisor / hotels.com / expedia for pictures and reviews plus the latter 2 often have sales on the internet prices plus quidco cashback for additional savings!
  • Thanks a lot Sam - will certainly heed your words - thanks !
