I wish I did get £25K!! I get approx £21000 with Housing Benefit included.I know it's a lot.If I didn;t have the cards to pay off I would be laughing
If I was in full time work I would need extra to pay for childcare and petrol, clothes for work, prescriptions, dentists etc-£25 was just a rough figure.Without the Housing Benefit I get around £12K a year.I can't wait for the day when I have no debt and can work knowing my wages will be enough to live on.At the moment they wouldn't be as there is no way I could get a job paying more than £13K a year as I just don't have the qualifications for anything.
ETA I agree it's a stupid system where I am better off not working full time. Also I am better off with my bf living 50 miles away as if he lived with me what he brings in would be less than what they would take away in benefits so we would end up worse off and even less able to pay debts offDebts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

Hi TMD,
I have PM you to apologise for hijacking your thread.
My point is a general one about benefits/ working / the social security system and would be better of as a general topic in the discussion forum.

Hi TMD
Im a newbie here, but I have worked for the PDSA, so I do know if you have any help in your area, you will qualify if you are on Housing and Council Tax benefit. If you try their website, https://www.pdsa.org.uk you can find out. It would save you your insurance every month (and any excess you have to pay when your pet needs treatment). If you have a PDSA Petaid Hospital in your area, you dont have to pre register. It is different with PDSA Petaid Practices, where you have to pre register. Certainly worth checking out, anyway!
All the best!0 -
