Double check that your insurance policies are the cheapest you can get.
Maybe you could use https://www.18185.co.uk for your phone calls to the mobile. 5p weekdays, 2p weekends may help matters?
Thanks I'll do that if I go over the free minutesDebts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

Hi toomuchdebt, just wanted to let you know if you do go metered you may be able to get your bill fixed to the average amount that a metered customer pays rather than paying for what you actually use, due to you being on benefits with 4 kids. Check out this page and call your supplier for more specific info. I know in 2004 the charge was about £210 for the year for severn trent customers on the scheme so as you can see it could be quite a saving.
You might also want to visit this page to see if you can get any energy saving grants and shave a bit off those energy bills.
Hope that helps some0 -

I deleted it myself earwig as I don't think my opinion would have helped the OP.
A case of if you have nothing nice to say don't say any thing at all.
It was more a rant at the system than at the OP.
No sooner had I posted it I thought my views on the benefit sytem etc etc were not really relevant to helping the OP, so I deleted it.

Hi TMD,
It was a rant basically saying the tax payer is paying your rent , council tax and another £1000 or so for you to live on.
You have a car, violin lessons and pets.
Yet people who are working loads of hours often cannot afford these things / luxeries, yet are paying for you to have them out of their taxes / hard work.
Just did not seem fair to me.
Not having a go at you, just the system.
I wish you well:beer:

Yeah I agree the system stinks-I would love to find a job and get off benefits but would have to find one that paid over £25,000 to be better off(taking into account I would have to be paying for childcare etc).
I would like to not have a car but have no choice-I actually hate driving but the school is over 3 miles away and there are no direct bus routes and getting to one school would mean walking 10 minutes to bus stop(or longer with cranky kids) getting on one bus to town centre, changing in town, walking 10 mins at other end and finally getting to school-and paying lots for it too-then doing it all in reverse-and back again at 12 and at 3pm.
In my defence I have only been on benefits 2.5 years as I got divorced when my youngest was onlly a year old,and it's taken me this long to get back on my feet enough to think of getting a job etc.I hate the stigma of being on benefits but at the same time I need money to live on
I have a job interview tomorrow (17.5 hours in a bank-let's hope they don't check my credit cards lol) so wish me luckDebts Jan 2014 £20,108.34

Hi TMD,
There are lots of ppl who post on here who work full time etc and get 15K - 25K a year and have kids and have to pay rent and council tax etc etc
Yet you get 25K a year and don't work.
It's just the system.
It seems strange the govt gives people who are not working enough money to run a car and pets when people who are working often can't afford a car and pets.
Anyway I know you are not on benefits through choice, the system has made it financially "better" for you not to work.
It's just some times seems a world gone mad and when I saw your SOA it set me off on a rant not at you but the injustice of the system.
Good luck at your interview and I wish you well and thank you for taking my comments in the right spirit.:T
