Painting curved lines on wall - Help !

We are just about to start painting our nursery and have picked colours of yellow and green. However, I want the green to go approx 1/2 way up the wall but finish in a wavy line - with yellow from there upwards. How would I do this to achieve a good finished line ??

You could cut a stencil from plastic sheet but personally I'd draw the line on with a pencil, then follow it and paint down from it a bit with a thinner brush (maybe a thick artists paint brush rather than a decorators brush), fill in the rest with an emulsion brush or roller, finally wash the pencil line off with soapy water once the wall is dry.

A top tip for getting decent edges to paint areas is to not use an overly small brush. I use a 1.5" brush for cutting in round window frames etc. The larger brush holds more paint and means you can keep going for longer.

try and do it freehand straight and its bound to come out wavy!

We used a light pencil line drawn at required height for wave then a section of a large plate as a stencil to give curve!

paint the top of walls first, bend 1" over flow pipe (very cheap from plumbers merchants) into your curves and draw line and cut in to this line and work downwards with a minimum 1.5" brush

You can buy masking tape that curves from any diy store.:cheesy:
