Help with printing issues! (grrr)

LOL! yet another techie challenge for one willing2 learn. :rotfl:

My printer is now only printing out the odd sentence here and there....now why would that be?

I only have a black ink thing in it - i removed and empty colour one - that said it prints colour when it feels like it....and most of the stuff i want to print is black and white text anyway.

eg, if there is something i want to print from here, i copy and paste onto my word prcoessor and print.....and i get the odd sentence...:T:rotfl:

also it has a facility to scan....and the scanner is not working either - it won't scan my photos... :-(

It would help if you told us the make and model of the all-in-one printer that it appears to be.

Have you tried reinserting the empty colour cartridge? Or replacing this with a full one? Some printers actually use (some) 'coloured' ink to print black - it is a way of using up the cartridges, just making more money for the printer manufacturer...

Put in a new colour cartridge, clean the print heads.
The 'black' text you are trying to print is probably made of of cyan/magenta/yellow, so won't print without the colour cartridge installed.
A lot of printers won't print anything without the full set of cartridges installed.
To get advice on the scanning issue, you need to give proper info-what error message are you getting when you try to scan? Is the scan head moving?

I will go get myself a new colour cartridge first and see if i can get the printer working - then i'll try sort the scanning issue
