Giving line rental back to BT

I'd like to give my line rental back to BT from TT as I plan to get NTL cable TV which requires this.
I have been with TT for only about 6 months now so does anyone know if I can do this at this stage?
If I can do I call BT for this or TT to transfer it back..?
Thanks
Terry

Not sure why you need to do this.

If NTL are saying you need a BT line, you still have a BT line - even if you are paying your line rental to TT, the line is still classed as a BT one.0 -
NTL cable TV is a cable TV service.
You need cable, not a BT line.
http://www.home.ntl.com/icat/television - note they say:
However, if you're with TT and are considering going to NTL, frying pans and fires flash before my eyes.*Price excludes £11.00 phone line rental which you must take with your TV PackTime has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Is it not a Cable Telephone Service they require you to have. Not a BT one.0

That's what I would have thought would have been normal - change the lot over to NTL.
I assumed the OP was retaining his BT line for some reason.

Yes, it seems like the OP must want to retain their number, however as they are on TalkTalk (spit) they must transfer back to BT and then transfer to NTL.
Although TalkTalk offer poor value telephone service, NTL's phone offering is one of the worst in the industry. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -

Without any shadow of a doubt. Even could be The Worse.0 -
