Please help me to compress windows media audio files (wma?) to email. please please

Hi all,

just started a new job but the typing up of reports is slowing me down sooo much so i'm going to send my audio files to a typist instead...

well thats the plan but i can't compress them so i can send them by email

( i know it must be possible because i know others who do it)

i don't know where to start at all :(

been googling and googling but i don't understand!

would really really appreciate any and all help! :)

    Upload it to MediaFire and send them the link.

    If you sign in first you can delete the link after they have downloaded it.

    thing is other people i work with use the same bank of typists and they do it this way and i think it's the way the typists want to work

    it must be possible if they do it?

    Well if you converted the files to mp3 at 32Kbps mono a half hour file would be around 7MB.
    That would probably be OK to attach to an email.

    Of course it depends on the medium the typists use to play the sound back. Do you know?
  • i found out about the type of file fromt he typist- i asked how she receives them- she's up at the mo as she's in nz, we send stuff before bed, wake up and it's done!

  • bat999, DS2 format is already compressed, not much around for licensing reasons, this does if its not copy protected

    On what does she play them?
  • - the typist in #8 is in New Zealand the software in #9 is Austrailian, the O/P I assume is in Londoon
    - if lizzielondon is recording in SP it it probably postable .. .. .. recoring in HQ - who knows !, I cant find a file size / mins
