Comet auction.

Hi,

think I might be needing a new washing machine, a drip now and again, and fast spin seems noisy, no complaints, as I've had it more than 15 years, and managed to fix the odd problem myself, belt, pump and door seal.

Anyhow, question is, has anyone bought a washing machine from the Comet Clearance Auction site, I'm not too bothered about a few scratches, but wondered about the 'no transit bolts' as to whether it could mean that the innards are flung about a bit in, guess what,,,,,,,,,,,,

transit.

Thanks.

  • We bought a Bosch through Comet Clearance a few months back which had no carriage bolts. Absolutely no problems , good deal and very satisfied with price only downside was wee delay in receiving it as old one had packed in so keen for quick delivery.

Prices seem to be too high (why do people bid up to shop price???) and there are lots of reports of problems.

    Shop around...examples....

http://www.coopelectricalshop.co.uk/ - register for Divi immediately before you buy and get some money back in your bank account a few months later. Prices are often very good/unbeatable to start with.

http://www.jualdomestics.com/ - got an excellent price on a dishwasher earlier in the year. Hotpint End of line, but 60% off retail and completely brand spanking new and sealed etc. Excellent service - timed delivery etc.

Also factor in Quidco etc and any vouchers on t'internet and a dented customer return from Comet begins to look ridiculous.

  • Just checked price for the Bosch we paid against two firms quoted and we paid over £70 less than them. Suppose some will go mad and pay too much you've just got to set your limit and stick to it and if like Op you are not in desperate rush then can wait until right model turns up.
