DLA claims.. how long did yours take?

Just wondering really. When we put in for my daughers we got it within 44 days. is that the norm? I read some people wait 3 months.

Cheers

    Mine took around three months.
    Gone ... or have I?
  • DS2 - 8 weeks (renewal)
DS1 - 39 weeks at the minute. Going to appeal even though he has more care needs than DS2. It took them 17 weeks to say no though.

  • 6 months. They refused to believe I needed it to begin with. Got told to appeal by my physio who supported me and won on the reconsideration we asked them to do before the appeal (they usually do a reconsideration anyway mind).

Posted my claim on the 14/01/2010 and got rejected within 3 weeks. Appeal was successful but waited until end of June 2010...
Look to me that for a lot of peoples it is not necessary to understand things in order to argue about them ;)
:) Do thanks me if you find my post useful to you :)
  • Haven't even sent mine off yet, I'm getting very disheartened by it all already. I guess at least I now know I will have to fight all the way, and can prepare myself for it.

The quickest was my youngest son, a renewal which came through 10 days after I posted it.

Slowest was my now ex husband as an initial claim, can't remember the timescale but do remember the very large back payment as he told me (from his hospital bed) to go out and treat myself to some clothes.....£25 later, I felt treated and he told me to go out and try again!
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Sent my own copies in the end and were awarded 2days later

My initial claim (in 2007) took around 6 months - 3 months for rejection and 3 months for them to look at it again and decide I was entitled.
