Happy last day in August
Finished the month with a NSD.
Oh, I found the stamps! It's only taken three days! MrsNAP - 1 Money Frittering - 0
Tomorrow is the proper start of my journey to debtfreedom, and I'd like my debt under 10k by 1/9/2012. I reckon I can do it! In fact, I WILL do it.
I was tempted to have one last takeaway tonight (I'm so bad!) but that's not really the way I should be thinking about it. Having ' one last' of anything is almost like this is the start of a punishment, a sentence if you like. It's not, it's going to be a lifestyle change.
It starts tomorrow, I'm sure I'll make mistakes along the way, but as the saying goes ' those who haven't made mistakes, haven't made anything' (or words to that effect!)I'll get there!0 -
Hi Mrs Penny,
How has your first day been on your new regime? I don't know about you but I find it quite exciting.
Sure you can get your debt under 10k by then...once you getting going it becomes natural.
Good Luck xxLBM March 2011 - [STRIKE]Joint Debt £46k[/STRIKE]Current Personal Debt £0 :jGroceries £152.51/230,Pot Balance £1564.02Christmas Savings £200, £2 savings £240 -
So much for 'my journey starts here, blah, blah'
I have spent a whopping £103.01 (Not including a £7 PAD to CC and £1 I lost in the trolley at the supermarket)
Here's where it went (It wasn't frittered, promise!)
Licence Renewal: £27.46
(any DFW out there that need to renew your licence, the Post Office will take your photo and sort the renewal out for £24, today it cost me £5 for pictures, £22 for a £20 postal order - rage - and 46p to post)
Supermarket (the 1st trip) :£38.05 (However! Before 'discounts and coupons' this was £52.87 and it was my 'Big Shop' Nappies, toileraties, ect)
Petrol: £20
Freezer shop: £3
Supermarket (2nd trip!): £14.50 (I forgot washing powder/shampoo, and, ahem, honey roast ham crisps....)
£55.55 out my shopping budget already! This is not looking good! :rotfl: Out of all that spending, only £2.20 was on 'luxuries'
At least I know where it's all gone, right? There has been many a time I've spent £100+ and not known where it has went, or had anything to show for it.
Knocked a few things off my list now to :T
Chase money from cleaning job (£40)
Provide Council with statements
Have 50% NSD.
Cash coins in (£40)
Cash paypal money (£10)
Renew licence
Contact SLC
Clean car/take it round a few garages
Post cards
Find stamps
Put all excess toileteries in one place
Change Utilities supplier
Change phone/broadband supplier
Throw all excess money at debts
Stick to plan above
*New List Entry* I've actually got myself on the Electoral Roll as well.I'll get there!0 -

Good Luck xx
I was just updating, had my wee blue spending diary and recipts out, adding it all up. I love my little book!
Yeah, I'm getting back into it, it's addictive. My only hobby!
How are you getting on?xI'll get there!0 -
I have a little blue spends diary too, its good to know where all your money goes each month, and it makes you think about what you are spending.
I don't have any other hobbies either, I find it really addictive and people at work are starting to join in on the fun too.
I have been doing man jobs tonight, like you I have a list of things to do...mostly in the house, I have been fixing radiators tonight with my hammer and WD40 ha ha. I need to get it ready to sell, but it makes me sad to think about that as I know thats the final goodbye.

Is it a sparkly blue one?? :rotfl:Mine always cheers me up, when I see it in my bag - it's like a reminder, sitting in there beside my purse.
I had a look at your diary update, you're doing really well. Maybe selling up is what you need? Could help with the debt busting to?I'll get there!0 -
Aw I love sparkles. Mine is just one I borrowed!!! from work.
Yeah, if I sell up my Financial Advisor says I can afford to pay off my debt and to buy a house for the price I was looking at. Funny enough I saw a house I really liked and it was only today I was looking at it on Right Move...I know its what I need to do, maybe its fate? xLBM March 2011 - [STRIKE]Joint Debt £46k[/STRIKE]Current Personal Debt £0 :jGroceries £152.51/230,Pot Balance £1564.02Christmas Savings £200, £2 savings £240 -
Sounds like a win win situation
Paying off debts, new house/new start, it can be full of your own stuff.
I see things my husband and I chose together, for our home and it makes me a little sad sometimes. I'm thinking about decorting my room bright pink, just to change it, so it's only mine! That'll have to wait until my finances allow!I'll get there!0 -
When you have a bit more spare money you could have a decorating allowance. I think it will be nice to make it your own. I'm desperate to decorate DD's bedroom as she is nearly 3 and its still like a nursery but all the indecision about splitting up or staying together I just thought there was no point as may have been a waste of money if moving anyway.
This house is far too big for me to stay here, OH pays half of the bills at the moment and when he comes round he does things to prove its still his house...thats when I think its time to go, as he can't come in and go to sleep on the sofa or change the channel on the tv if the house is not his. I only told him 2 weeks ago that it was time to split...some days I think am ready and some days I don't.
Bright pink will look fab, thats what I have advised my mum to do with her bedroom...make it into a boudoir ha ha. xLBM March 2011 - [STRIKE]Joint Debt £46k[/STRIKE]Current Personal Debt £0 :jGroceries £152.51/230,Pot Balance £1564.02Christmas Savings £200, £2 savings £240 -
Boudior indeed, maybe some animal print throws for good measure!!
Yeah, then it would be your house and your rules. You wouldn't even need to let him through the threshold. You'll have good and bad days, but it'll get easier. I promisexx
I'll get there!0
