Hmm I have never done this, either with gas or electricity...and have not had a problem...It could be that the oven was not hot enough.
For any recipe that takes 30 minutes or less, you will always need to pre-heat the oven, even if it is a fan oven. The chips themselves would need to be spread evenly over a baking sheet or they will not cook correctly.Ellie :cool:
