Installation of Tesco Internet phone fiasco!

It all started when I bought my 1st phone on Friday.....Disc turned out faulty.
Then took back got another one and same happened again.
So.....I rang their help line who said I should activiate my account and THEN download the software from their site. Each and everytime....(4 times in total) the download stopped at 93%.
A guy then sent it to me by email thinking it was a solution.......However......hotmail would not allow me to view it ...(.potential virus on attachement.) Couldnt get anyone to send the attachment to an alternative address.......apparently the young guy shouldnt have done this in the first place!!Rang up Tesco again.........A young girl said it could be compatiability problems with phone. But I have not had the phone plugged in.....ever!!
A technician said it sounded like a cache problem....which means nothing to me.
Any suggestions other than returning the phone meaning a journey of 20 miles!!
I thought it was cheap at £9.97 but I am certain I am out the cost in phone calls to their 0845 help line and not to mention travelling expenses!
I am a lady of a "certain age" so please keep things simple......smiles

There was a recent post about this which I haven't been able to find but after trying two different handsets from Tesco's, the OP was told that there was a faulty batch! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
