I have the most wonderful bush tomato plant in a big pot which I got for £1.99 at the garden centre when they were selling them off. It's Red Alert and they are small and sweet and tasty - or that is they might be if only I ever got to eat any of them, because every time one of the (many) toms starts to get red Someone comes and nibbles it so I have to chuck them. I can hardly set mousetraps all round it in the garden, but can anyone think of a good way to stop the nibbling so that I can have a tomato or two ?

Could be birds - pop some bird netting over them and see what happens. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Slugs are keen on tomatoes and will climb the plants if the weather is damp.0
