Gatwick Airport pickup

Tomorrow night I have to pick up my partner from the South Terminal at Gatwick.

I’d like to be able to drive into to Short Term Car Park 3, find her and drive out again within 15 minutes. My recollection of the car park is that it’s on more than one level, is divided into areas and has more than one entrance from the teminal.

Both of us have difficulty walking, so I’m hoping someone can answer this - where do I tell her to go in the car park and how do I find that spot myself?

if it were me i would tell her to get the lift to ground floor by where all the hotel/car park buses pick up and meet her there.you can park on the lower level if memory serves me correct there is a ramp so no need to use steps.

i do gatwick at least once a month. for south, drive to mcdonalds and aim to be there 45 mins after landing. its always an hour. but and its important do not stay longer than the advertised time of 40mins. get your partner to call you when they are coming into the main terminal. drive round to the pick up / drop off zone. far easier than any meet and greet, south car parks are awful.
they can also ask for assitance and someone will help all the way to the pick up tunnel.

  • Thankyou, both of you. What you've said has reminded me of the layout of things there.

Bordercars, you seem to be saying Ignore the car parks and do your pickup in the dropoff area. Also, are you saying the McDonalds is on-site? If so, how long to drive to the dropoff area?

sorry, just come back to this thread. lots of people pick up in the drop area, you really need to wait at mc'd until you pick up is in the area because if you wait there to long the warden ask's you to move off, not a prob it's a 3 min drive round the block. mc.d's and bp are both on site, to access drive into south cut across the hotel front, if you miss then just follow round drop area anyway, when leaving either area you have to go back round the donut and into the airport, no more than 3/5 mins.

bp and mc'd are above the hilton and below the yellow rd and roundabout on this map.
