Calling mobiles abroad using 0870 nos for free with BT

Does anyone call mobiles abroad for 'free' using 0870 numbers (such as Planet Talk) with a BT unlimited anytime plan?

I'm planning to switch to BT for this reason and I'd like to be 100% sure it works.

    If you can find such a number, BT would charge for that sort of use - it's known as 'indirect access' and is specifically excluded.
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    Planet Talk may have used 0870 numbers in the past when they were revenue sharing numbers,but they now use 0844/0871.

    How disappointing. :( Sounded too good to be true, anyway...
    The number is actually 0871, did not realise there was a difference.

    Good thing I checked here...
