Small inheritance investment advice

Hello MoneySavingExperteers
,
My Granddad recently past away at the tremendous age of 98.
After the Goverment etc have taken there cut, there was a same inheritance left of £300.
At the moment, there is nothing I want to send it on, so I was looking to put it away somewhere where it can quitely earn some interest.
I'm not planning on touching it for a looooooong time, so any ideas on long term, "no touching" high rate savings / ISA etc ,...or is there something better I can do that I'm just not thinking of ?
Thanks
Smoothas:)

No offence, Smoothas, and I'm sorry for your loss, but are you seriously looking for advice on how to invest £300?
With today's interest rates, you will be lucky to earn £5 a year interest. Is it really worth worrying about?
I'm sure your grandfather would prefer you just to go out and blow it on something you enjoy to remember him by, rather than sweating the small stuff.0 -
Normally I encourage all saving, but I am afraid I totally agree with bendix! ENJOY0

Thanks both of you for your advice.
I couldn't find anything myself , investment wise, and thought i'd ask before closing the door on that option.
I've just found out my wife is pregant :j, so the money will now help in buying baby things instead (I know that what my granddad would have told me to do with it if he'd have known).
Thanks again:)0 -

Babies are not an investment strategy I'd recommend, but - hey - each to their own.
Congrats.0 -
That is great news, and little people need a lot of things, I know, I am a proud grandmother of a 2 year old little girl. Your granddad would be delighted I am sure!0

I think its too little for savings and earn some good return but still you can keep it in your bank account to keep it safe0
