I thought it was a joke but someone ordered two car booster seats from woolworths and they've been given an expected delivery date of 18th September 2007.
Anyone else had this and what can we do?

However I expect traffic officers will use common sensegiven the nationwide shortage of seats :rotfl:

A few days grace, people have known about the law change for months and have been too lazy to do anything about it until last minute, if you are concerned for your kids safety it should have been done straight away0

That's a bit unfair. I only found out about this new law a couple of weeks ago, via this site actually. It's not been very well advertised up until the last few days IMO.
Fortunately my ds already uses a booster seat, so it wasn't a problem for us but I know a few parents who have been trying to buy a seat for the last couple of weeks and haven't been able to find one.0 -
Its been advertised on the TV and in the shops for months0

I really cant see why we need this law. If i had a child and once strapped in saw that the seatbelt went around the neck area i would no straight away that its dangerous. Are people so dumb they cant see the dangersSmile and be happy, things can usually get worse!0

One shop being out of stock is no excuse not to have a child car seat! These people probably haven't even looked in more than one shop. I have seen loads in Halfords, Toysrus and Mothercare.
Anyway to get back to the OP- have you already paid? If so ask for a refund and go elsewhere.July Win: Nokia 58000 -

Obviously the car seatat would not go around a childs neck if it was correctly fitted. I have seen too many kids in cars with no seatbelts or boosters.
I really can't see the problem- Its your childs safety at stake! Is the price of a booster seat (as little at £20) really too much to pay?July Win: Nokia 58000 -

No online stores have it in stock, as far as I can see, and yes the money has been taken from their account :rolleyes:0
