Whenever i buy gerberas i find that after a couple of days they start to droop, the flower itself is still very much in full bloom but the stem folds in half
I alwayw cut the stem when i put them in the vase so they get plenty of water.
where am I going wrong?

I've never had that problem with gerberas, in fact they are often still standing tall when the other flowers with them are fading. I snip off the bottom half inch of stem as well. Have you tried getting them from somewhere else? Perhaps it's the way they've been treated before you buy them, or perhaps they are not fresh stock. See if you can find out when your florist gets fresh flower deliveries, and try to buy them really fresh. If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0

you could try using some fine wire to support the stem, your florist or garden centre should have some. just spiral it up them stem. not ideal i know, but you don't want to waste them now you have paid for them.
