Problem with seller on ebay

I bought a blouse on ebay and when it arrived it was NOT the size stated, I took a photo of the label and emailed the seller attaching the photo, she said I needed to send the blouse back and she would then refund my money plus the cost of my postage... this I did, and nothing happened, so I emailed again asking if she had received the blouse back and she replied that she had.
but 2 weeks has now gone by and no credit on my PayPal account, I emailed again saying that if I did not receive the refund within 48 hours I would report her to ebay, can smeone tell me how I can do this please and also is this the course of action I should be taking.

Regards Lotus

  • You know, I have had crap experiences on Ebay too, both as seller and buyer... My last time I was selling a Motorola V3im (the one with iTunes), and had nothing but bogus people offering me £50 through to £899. This isn't right... My theory is don't trust strangers who you can't meet when trading...I'm still stuck with an unwanted phone!!! alvareendavis at yahoo co uk

you need to go to your "my ebay" page, go the the item you have bought, next to it there will be a box you can click on and it will give different choices, click on "report an item not recieved" there will be instructions there for you. Hth and good luck

Thank you for your reply, but I did actually receive the item, the seller agreed that she would give a refund to me plus my postage costs for the return, I emailed her asking if she had received the item as she had not sent money to my PayPal account, and she emailed to say YES she had received the item. But 2 weeks has now passed and she still has not sent me my money.
  • Unfortunately there isn't a 'Item paid for and received but then returned and not refunded' dispute :)

Essentially you're in the situation of having paid... but having no goods to show for it.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

you could raise a dispute via paypal,

did they send it recorded? if not, claim item undelivered
did you return it recorded? if you did then claim item not as described
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)

No they didnt send it recorded
No I didnt send it recorded
Today I left negative feedback, explaining why
And now they have just left me negative feedback saying 'I offered refund but expected me to pay return postage' They offered to pay return postage and I have their email as evidence.

I think you were a little hasty in negging her.
Especially beacue you have asked for help and that wasn't a suggestion made on this thread.
IMO your best bet is to claim goods not recieved. Paypal don't give a d**n about emails they just want a tracking number and she will be unable to provide one.

I always pay for return postage if its my mistake, buyer shouldn't be out of pocket for sellers mistake.

This is the only prob with feedback if you leave a neg you usually get one in return. A non paying buyer tried to neg me recently but they hadn't replied to the dispute I opened so their rating was removed but the one I left for them will remain. So don't leave a neg unless you are happy to get one back - its not fair but that seems to be the way it is.

I would email her and say how upset this has made you and that you would have expected your refund by now and not a negative feedback

respond to her feedback saying "item returned but no refund given, paypal dispute now opened"

what is her feedback like? If it is good then she may agree to a feedback removal from you both?

Then you can either open a paypal dispute or like I said above, open an item not recevied dispute through ebay as essentially you have never received the item you bidded on - you can say after you have started the dispute what has happened so far

    Good luck
