Well I've logged on to sky and the breakdown of my bill is:
Sky Multiroom £10
Sky HD £10
Entertainment pack with movies £39
Broadband £10
Line Rental £11
Call Charges £5.54
So quite alot goes to sky each month
We can't change to virgin as it's not available where we live.
My O2 contract doesn't run out until October 2011 so still a while left to go on that. Will have to ask OH to check when his runs out.
After some inspiration reading through some of the threads I managed to make a very MSE dinner. I split 1 700g pack of mince in two and with half made a bolognese which did supper with enough leftovers for both of our lunches tomorrow and the other half I have in the slow cooker with onions, mushrooms, carrotts and gravy which we'll have tomorrow night with dumplings and hopefully will have enough left over for lunch Wednesday so 8 meals out of it. I know most people probably do this already but this is a first for me so I'm quite pleased with myself
Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Well the situation isn't as bad as I first thought money wise for this month. Checked my account today and we have £66.17 left in the joint account and £97.34 left in the account for food and petrol. Will probably need to put another £20-£30 in the car which leaves £67 - £77 for food for the rest of the month and at the moment I'm trying to use up freezer things so that should cover food for the rest of the month.
Starting my spending diary today as well, though I know today is going to be a NSD as we've brought leftovers in so won't be going out for lunch then we're going to the gym which we pay for monthly and then home. Half the meal for tonights made as well, only need to do veg and dumplings to go with the mince nom nom nom.Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Well done LP!
It does make you think when you realise how much money you have been wasting - I can't remember the last time I brought lunch out at work.... Loving the leftovers!
I also pad most of my meals likes spag bol and chilli and currys with lots of veg.

As I have said time and time again he HAS to use a gym because of the equipment he needs to use. We have asked the physiotherapist and as I previously said they will not fund it. I don't mind paying this per month, £25 a month each is not alot and not somewhere I am willing to make cut backs on. I am addressing other areas that I possibly can make cut backs on.
You do not know our situation and do not know what it is he needs to use at the gym so no we can't just do what he needs to do round the house.
I'm not going to continue explaining this to you so can you just drop it now pleaseGoing to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Baby steps and all that! I think I'm going to try batch cooking a few meals this weekend and freezing them for use through the week. I always put things like peppers, carrotts etc in things like spag bol and loads of mushrooms as we both love mushrooms!Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Where can I find that challenge? Might have a mosey on over.
We tend to get mainly frozen veg as with it just being the two of us if we get fresh it normally goes to waste. For some reason I never think of chucking frozen veg into things I'm making, so might try that!Going to get to grips with food shopping again, starting February!

Do you go to the local sports centre? as that is cheaper that private membership. I found I wasnt going regularly enough so paying £29 for me was not a good option.
I also started a spending diary which has been helpful.
I cut back on buying food at work that saves alot of money.
Make sure you explore every aspect of your spending.Egg April 10 £6600 Jan £4678 now £0
