Help Please - My File has Disappereared

Disaster.

I've been working on an Excel spreadsheet all day for the MD. Printed it off and went for the meeting. Now I can't find the file and need to make amendments.

Tried searching for filename and by modified date.

Appreciate any help, thanks.

  • Was this an attachment sent to you in email which you clicked on and modified, as opposed to a file on the hard disk or network?

No not from an email. I definitely saved it as I made a copy of a file I did on Friday and put todays sate on the end of the title.
  • In Excel have a look under "File" and see if it's listed in the most recent open items area, failing that try a search for ~$*.* under DOS and see if you can find it as a temp file.

Presumably, you've done the obvious, by re-opening EXCEL, clciking on <File>, then choosing the first file listed at the bottom of the pull-down menu?
  • Did you save it on the c: drive or network?
