Savings for Christmas!

Hi,

Do you have a regular habit of saving for Christmas ahead and want to save BIG money while shopping?

Is savings a good way to enjoy Post Christmas? Share your experience.

I'm much impressed with the way the Christmas Savings Plan works out. Do you have any idea about these types of plan in UK?

  • This is what exactly i am looking for.

I often heard this from people saying, saving helps not to use credit card & pay high interests but still achieve your dreams.

A query: The saving plan (from Lending stream) what you ve enroled is only for exclusive customers or anybody can try?

I am not sure it is available only for Lending stream customers or not!

I got this as a christmas gift offer where i can shop any product from any merchant in UK and i would get flat 10% discount on the MRP.

  • Hi steve, its interesting, what is that product all about and how you are saving money? How can i get that offer?

I always think to save for next Christmas BUT it creeps up rather quickly before I start to save for it!!

If I were to save it would be in an interest bearing savings account or Supermarket savings stamps. (drip feed money in or buy the stamps) After Farepak troubles I wouldn't want to trust any Tom, !!!!!! or Harry!!!!

Argos sometimes do voucher deals near to Christmas, Supermarkets sometimes do a series of linked grocery spends to qualify for money off @ Christmas.
  • I agree with you. In fact many of us try to save for christmas but end up spending our savings early. We need someone to make us responsible for saving like Mint.com does in US.

Your concern towards the Farepak scam is justified but there are good players like GetPark, Variety etc..who are doing pretty well in the Christmas savings hamper.

But for my big purchase like home requirements (TV, Computer...), im not sure how my savings account would help rather we would make someone who can assist us to save money by giving high discounts or interests.

    what do you think?

  • I thought supermarket saving stamps were the way to go but them someone reminded me that if you lose your stamp card, you get nothing back as you can't prove how many stamps you had. I can't risk that happening so I think Park is much better. I can save for Love2shop vouchers and spend them in Iceland on my Christmas order and go in loads of other shops and buy all my presents with them too. I know that my money is protected by the Christmas Prepayment Association and goes into a Trust Account so there's no chance of me losing out.
  • Your interest towards Park is because of its association with Christmas prepayment association or do you have any other reason?

What else you guys think Park kind of companies should have?

    George.
