What do you want the new card to do - spend or do a balance transfer?

Then do something like the Nationwide credit card which is 0% for 9 months and also pretty useful for foreign transactions
  • Try to get the cards that are easy to get like Aqua, capitalone or vanquis. Once you get them, run them well for 5-6 months, then your credit score will seriously go up. Then other companies will trust you with ur payment history and will probably give you better deal. I did the same and yesterday approved for Halifax One @ 9.9%. Now I'm gonna close my aqua and capitalone accounts. They served their purpose.

Also try to be on the electoral roll.

    02. HSBC MasterCard (£2250 @ 14.9%)
    03. HALIFAX One MasterCard (£2200 @ 12.9%)
    04. Monument VISA (£1000 @ 19.9%)
    05. Aqua MasterCard (£500 @ 29.9%)
  • Ty a product offered by your own bank - you might stand a better chance with it, since they have a better view of the in/outgoings in your bank account.
