Cheap/Easy to use accounting packages?

Hi Experts!

I've used Sage in the past but understand that its quite expensive to use compared to online accounting packages.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an accounting package for a small business?

Unless you have complex needs, such as top notch stock control or foreign currencies, then www.kashflow.co.uk is every bit as good as Sage and works out a lot cheaper than buying Sage, paying their extortionate support fees and having to rebuy it every few years to keep up with the latest version. It's also online so you have all the benefits of "cloud" computing.

A good desktop alternative for very basic book-keeping is www.vtsoftware.co.uk - about £125 one off fee to buy the full ledger-based systems or a free cash book download if you don't need ledgers. Both offer incredibly fast & simple data entry.
