I think I've messed up. (Potato related)
We've had to move out for 2 weeks because of work being done on the house.
When we left, the potato plants seemed happy enough and were just beginning to flower. I popped home at one point about a week later and they had kinda wilted over and were looking really tatty so whilst I was feeding the tomato plants, I bunged some of the feed into the potato sacks too. Now the potato plants are seriously unwell looking. They are horizontal and droopy. Are they done for or is there anything I can do to help them.
I've had a root around for potatoes and it would seem they are all pretty much marble size.

were they being watered or did it rain in the time you were away?0

Could it be potato blight?
I know it attacks toms as well, but maybe a possibility
Where they kept watered? Did the builders chuck slops in them?Numerus non sum0 -
Certain varieties I've found do die off quick after flowering others are still looking lush when I'm digging them up!
What sort are they Jo?
Sometimes the upper ones are smaller and when you dig down thats where the monsters are

Are the stems rotten near soil level? If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0

It rained quite a bit when we were away. We're in the Scottish Highlands and probably get more than our fair share of rain.

Don't think the workmen did anything (although I did annoy them at one point by complaining about their work so who knows?
)
Don't know what kind they were...I won a selection of fruit and veg plants in a competition and they were just in straw in a box, no names or variety info.
Not exactly sure what blight is.
Stems seem fine, even although they're lying on their sides now.
The plants are in those potato grow bag things you get....circular woven bags around 18 inches high (ish). You can open a flap at the bottom to feel for pots....all I could feel were marbles.
I'm not sure whether to leave them or just pull them up now tbh.Herman - MP for all!
