Went to watch the football on saturday 12.45 kick off, my mate was on his phone for about an hour filling in a wonga online form for £200. He said he will have to pay them back 250 when he gets paid, fair enough.

He then went to his bank to find that the £200 had been put into his account and straight away £40.50 taken out for a company called "the loan centre".

He was not happy and is going to his bank to try and get this £40.50 back. I told him it was probably an admin fee , does anybody have any idea how wonga work?

And he is also broke all the time so he will more than likley end up spiriling into more and more debt with them.

That's very expensive beer and football money :D Anyone know what the annual APR is for a 160 pound loan over 3 weeks with a repayment of 250 pounds, if I'm right he has just acquired a loan at around 3000%.

Although personally his greater worry should be that he may have just set up a recurring debit with a broker. As to getting his money back, they fulfilled their part of the contract, they did get him a loan, albeit with Wonga

..phone the police.the fsa. the consumer protection agency..facebook. twitter and your local newspaper..I am in the process of obtaining a few details and when i do i will post them all over the internet. along with my personal experience with them. which is my legal right. apparently they have updated the fee part of their site but others have proof of their domain as it was and i will settle for nothing less than my day in court.I will let the whole world know how things progress.write to them explaining what happened and ask for your money back, this is the curtious thing to do.and what they say you should do.dont be surprised if it gets you nowhere.as i have said all over the internet. i will make them earn every penny of the money they took from us.the loan-centre. 46 alexandra street southend on sea essex ss1 1bj...good luck..

Are you aware of how much a TV campaign and full page Ads in multinational newspapers cost. And I don't even want to think about the translation fees. It may also be difficult getting the story to some of the more remote villages in Tibet :D

Op, you should have gone via Quidco! Not only would you have not paid the broker fee, but the loan would have been near on free!
    Best Regards

According to their advert £120 for 9days will cost £16.64 so the total repayable is £136.64 this is a typical APR of .......2689%

My oh My, hope his footy team won and it was worth the loan!
  • I have just had this with my son, i emailed them 3 times and each time explaining i didn't want their service, stated i was within the 14 days to cancel by law, they eventually have offered to give me a refund after stating i was going to the fsa.
Make sure you state you want to cancel membership and then you have to also fill a form out.
    Good Luck
