    As the OP was posting on this forum in the first place, I would have thought they would want to be free from debt - not stay in it for the sake of 'getting one over' the DCA... There'll only be one loser in this little scrap - the OP - who'll still have an unsettled debt.

    Each to their own I suppose! I know what I'd rather do.

    i have other debts that are higher than this.. and tbh silvafox is right.. i think ill risk it tbh..

    the sooner your credit file is marked settled the better correct? as it says 50% will mean they mark it settled , its settled. Save the letter and if they ever come back which I doubt contact consumer direct.

    im gonna do it as soon as i get some cash this week hopefully.. they wanted bank details/debit card details over the phone to "hold" the offer i dont think so.. ill ring when i have the cash it says i have 10 days ( from 11th august) im sure they would be keen to take the 50% even after this date..
