admiral have been offering this for over 20 years.

the only snag is that some other insurers will not accept the accelerated no claims period but will work on calender years.

Anyway - I used it with no problems at all. What you usually get asked is how long have you had your license for, I passed in November 2007, didnt get a car until Feb 2008, so numbers all tallied up after 10 months, as I had held license for over 12 months and had 1 years NCD
Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.

You still needed to tell them that it was an accelerated no claims scheme you got you no claims from though.

Why? What different does it make?

accelerated no claims bonus is an internal gimmick from Admiral (and its sister companies). It is not recognised by most other providers if they are aware of it.

would you bother with it or not. don't want to be a problem for the next years insurance if he goes to another company
  • I insured with Admiral when I bought my new car in March, I decided to go against the 10 month deal, as explained above, as come renewal time, I might have problems getting other insurers to accept it when I change companies, when Admirals renewal price will hopefully be able to be beaten by another insurance company.

I used this for several years, and never had a problem transferring. However, I always found Elephant (a sister company who I did this with) to be the cheapest by far. I now have about 7 or 8 years ncb.
