  • I think I was taxed wrong last year as I had a number of different employers and lots of jsa claims in between plus time off sick... I haven't done anything about it yet tho - perhaps I should! I am hopeful that when they get the p60s in from the various sources they will write to me? Perhaps I am being naive?:o
Naive I would say. They won't contact you to let you know, you need to contact them.

They won't chase this up at all if you've overpaid. You should collect up all your P45s and P60s for the relevant tax year and add up all your gross income and all your tax and see if it works out properly. This website is a big help for working out what the tax on the annual total should be http://www.listentotaxman.com/

If it's not right, you should collect up all your documents and send them with a letter to HMRC spelling out that your tax is wrong.

Thanks I hadn't heard of that website - I will give it a go perhaps next week when I am off work... It would be good if I could get a refund better in my pocket than theirs:money:

Dh worked a couple of casual jobs last year and was told by the tax office that he would get a refund of the overpayment he had made in june when they got all the info in...........um it's now nearly september and we haven't heard anything. he tried ringing them today was on the phone 15 minutes before getting a recorded message saying "your call is important to us..... you are in a queue......your call will be answered in the next 20 minutes" 20 minutes??????? i don't think so. so he hung up and has ranted about them all day!! he's hoping to ring them back tomorrow. the refund would be a nice chunk out of our debts if we ever get it back

It is a bird watching field scope. Not sure entirely what it is about as my In laws gave it me and said we could keep the profits. It now has 31 watchers. :D

I've listed mainly the kids old stuff on there. I had some nice jeans from next and Debenhams designers, and some of their clarks shoes, and i am listing some coats. It might take a while to sell, but i just tend to keep relisting at 99p till stuff goes. I hope some of it sells this time though as i am so fed up of all the junk, and wanting to clear a bit of space before my DS1s birthday in October, and the big event in December that people don't like hearing about this early.

Thankfully presents for the birthday were purchased when we spotted them. We got him a bike that an old school friend was selling for £15 and is in very good condition. Absolute bargain.

It takes a long time. I sent my letter in May and got my repayment last week.
As for calling them....I have NEVER got through to a person on the tax office number. He should visit the local tax office for more success, or see if he can get hold of their number rather than the national number that never gets answered!
