tom tom sat nav start 2

Has anyone got any experience of the new tom tom sat nav start 2

I was thinking of buying one after my old garmin became detached from its base and I found out the replacement base is quite expenive. Looking at tom tom start 2 reviews they seem quite good and the price seems ok. Can anyone tell me if you can program the sat nav to avoid motorways. I did use this feature with my garmin as motorways are not my favourite.

Any advice will be gratefully received. Thank you:)

    have you priced the mount on eBay?
  • Thanks for your reply. Yes I did search ebay but mount sbout £16 which as my garmin does not have the latest up to date maps, seems quite expensive and got me thinking to buying a new one.

    The trouble is now there seem to be so many sat navs out there for around £100 (price I can afford), that its really hard to choose the best one.:eek:

    If you do a search, i am sure that you can buy one of the cheaper units and install the tomtom software onto them.

  • Thankyou Custardy and Davemorton. I bought the Tom tom travel 2 the other day after all my indecision. This was just in time for my son to drive to Vfestival and I was pleased to hear from him that he arrived safely.

    From what he has told me its very good and easy to use. I'll just have to wait until I have a go and see if its any better than my old garmin!!
    kind regards lilychip:beer::)
