Help me fix my bike
I have bought a Chinese scooter a few months back, it’s a ‘Direct Bikes DB125’ ( if you google it will come up first on images ) unfortunately I didn’t know that it was a very bad move, at the time. I have had numerous problems with it through its short life, but most of them were sort of minor and I managed to fix them myself.
Last week though it started acting up. First thing I noticed is when I revved, the scooter wouldn’t respond straight away it wasn’t a massive delay about half a second if that. Few minutes later on full throttle it started jerking until there was no power, the engine was still running but i wasn’t going anywhere.
I tried taking to mechanics, they all said they want nothing to do with a Chinese scooter. So I am stuck with it, can anyone shed some light on how to go about fixing it?
I was even thinking of trying to fix it myself, any tips, advice, diagnosis or step by step instructions on how to fix it, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Guess it's on carb......
Not that I really want to offer much advice with regards to it, but my money is on the carb jets. I've seen several of these just "fall out" on these Chinese "bikes."
Get rid mate, take a five year old Honda. At least you can get bits for them.

From your description it is impossible to diagnose what might be wrong. It could be electrical / carb or even a hole in the piston. These scooters are very basic and it should be quite easy for a mechanic or even a DIY owner to work on, but is it worth the effort? It may take more than the scooter is worth to fix it. Take it back to wherever you bought it and ask them to repair or check the internet for the nearest dealer for the make.
We all make mistakes. Trade it for a more reliable make. Sell it on eBay sold as seen. You might get more as spare parts!

It's a bit late for me to respond to this post 6 months after it was originally posted. I would be interested to know how this turned out in the end. I purchased a scooter from Direct Bikes and am about to take them to court 'Not fit for purpose' See thread https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2997096If you wish in this world to advance, your merits you're bound to enhance; You must stir it and stump it, and blow your own trumpet, or trust me, you haven't a chance.0
